There are a few rivets on the lower skin that are blocked by the landing gear. I jacked up the plane and removed all but one center gear bolt. I could then pivot the gear out of the way to drill the holes. The gear was lowered just slightly and all the washers stayed in place while I moved the gear. I'll need to repeat this during the final rivet installation so I temporarily installed standard nuts on the gear bolts.
Removed the skins for deburring and dimpling.
Installed an Aircraft Spruce 15144 pitot-static tube on the lower right wing, positioned according to W07, Detail A. I used a 3/8" thick rubber/fiber packing gland as a standoff and dimpled the skin for MS24693-S55 screws. The result is that the base of the probe is flush with the skin. Ran the pitot/static hoses to the tube location and checked that the assembly could be installed/removed through the inspection hole in case maintenance/replacement is ever required.
Installed a 3/8" OD plastic tube in the leading edge for the navigation/strobe light wiring.
